Shaving Cream

My sister was just reminding me of when she was staying with us. She had left a can of spray shaving cream in the bathroom. Guess who found it? Morgan! He painted the hall way, the whole bathroom and part of her room with it. So, if you come visit us please do not leave your shaving cream in the bathroom, or anything else for that matter. Morgan will find it and use it all up.

Driving Dad's Car

Morgan has joined the local community cub scout troop as a Tiger. My husband told him and his brother to get shoes on and get in the car, while he found his keys to take them to scouts. The car was parked in our driveway, which has a fairly decent slope to it, going down towards the street. While getting in the car Morgan decided to release the emergency brake. He took dad's car for a joy ride down the drive way. Thanks to his guardian angels, the car missed our fence by 3 inches, my sisters car by 2 inches and our other car by about 8 inches, before coming to a stop halfway in the street, and no one was hurt. My husband no longer leaves his car with just the parking brake on.

A Good Reason Not to Argue

While straddling his bike, Morgan started arguing with his 2 year old sister. He lost his balance and fell over. His bike fell on top of him and the handle bar, which the rubber grip had worn off of hit him above the eye. 9 stitches and 6 hours later he was doing fine and back to his usual activities. And of course he remembers none of it because of the medication they gave him to make the stitches easier to get in.

Wooden TV

Morgan was trying to convince me that the Indians used laptops in the old days, and that they had touch pads instead of mice, because they are older and harder to use. We explained to him that they did not have computers or TV's. He followed with "Then what did they watch? Did they have wooden TV's?'

Bungee Jumping

I thought I would add a few of the other things Morgan has done over the last year or so. So this and the next few blogs are not things that happened in the last day or two. Morgan found the bungee cords in my 72-hour kit and decided to have some fun. He climbed the 6-foot fence and attached one end of the cords to his socks and the other end to the top of the fence. Thanks to his very busy guardian angles, he was not injured.

Matches

A few days ago my son found a box of matches. He took them to his room and lit one. Thankfully, he burned the tip of his finger before he could set his bed on fire, and blew the match out. I went downstairs to switch the laundry and smelled the lit match. Instantly I hollered for Morgan. I knew that of my 6 kids, he was the only one who would have actually lit the matches instead of giving them to me. We had a good talk about what would happen if he were to set his clothes or his bed or whatever else on fire. Hopefully some part of that lesson got in his head. I am afraid that he is going to have to learn everything the hard way in his life. In the mean time he is dealing with a very small burn on the tip of his finger and a huge grounding.

Morgan in a nut shell

My sister said I should make a blog of all the things Morgan does. He is a child full of energy and has the tendency to find as much mischief as he can. For example, last year, right after buying a new couch (3 days after) I put a movie on for Morgan and his brother while I was making dinner. They found my box of craft paints. They painted (in 10 minutes) the new couch, the rug, the walls, the TV, the fireplace and each other. Morgan's brother came upstairs to tell me he needed a drink and was covered in about 5 different colors of paint from head to toe. This was with only 10 minutes.

The latest adventure:
A few weeks ago Morgans school sent home 5 of those $20 coupon books for the kids to sell. We bought 1 and sent the rest back to school to be turned back in, along with the money for the one we got. This morning I found Morgan with a guilty look on his face, in his room. When I asked what he was doing he, of course, said just sitting here bouncing my ball. I quickly looked where he had been 'sitting' and found the cards from 2 of the coupon books, along with a handful of other stuff. Of course I knew there was a problem as soon as I saw the discount cards. He had taken the cards out of the books, and put the books through my shredder! Then he had given his older brother the $20 because he wanted to buy something. That was $80 worth of books! If you are ever on the PTA and in charge of something like this, PLEASE do not send the kids home with anything of value! Someone, like my son, will come along and destroy or loose it. Parents do not need to have that kind of stress added to their lives, at least, I don't. So don't send Morgan home with anything of value!
